From our beta testers and waitlist community.
“I used to spend half a day measuring up a site. Harv.ant does it in ten minutes and the DXF opens straight in AutoCAD.”
“My clients can leave comments without downloading anything.”
“Finally a scanning app that exports IFC properly. The Archicad import is clean and all room entities come through correctly.”
LiDAR on iOS requires iPhone 12 Pro or newer Pro models, or iPad Pro 2020+. On Android, ARCore depth sensing works on Samsung Galaxy S21+ and Google Pixel 6+. Standard models without LiDAR — including most Android phones — use Photo Scan mode. Walk the room taking overlapping photos and our cloud photogrammetry engine generates an accurate floor plan. No special hardware required.
LiDAR scans using Apple’s RoomPlan achieve approximately ±10mm accuracy. ARCore on Android achieves ±20–30mm. Both are sufficient for renovation documentation, client presentations and preliminary design work.
It depends on your space type. For interior rooms, 40–60 photos per room works best — capture each zone methodically before moving to the next, with around 60–70% overlap between shots. For exterior spaces, plan for 150–300 photos covering the full perimeter and all elevation faces. More overlap means better accuracy.
Interiors: Divide each room into zones and work through them systematically. Walk the perimeter first, then capture the centre and any alcoves or recesses. Aim for 40–60 photos per room.
Exteriors: Work in passes — start with a full perimeter walk at eye level, then photograph each elevation face separately. For complex facades, add a second pass at a higher angle if possible. Budget 150–300 photos for a typical building exterior.
Server jobs refer to photogrammetry processing — converting uploaded photos into a 3D model on our cloud servers. LiDAR scans are processed on-device and are unlimited. Most architects complete 2–5 projects per month, so 10 server jobs covers typical usage.
Yes. Harv.ant exports IFC 2x3 format, natively supported by Archicad, Revit, Tekla and Vectorworks. Each room is exported as an IFCSPACE entity with correct dimensions and area properties.
Harv.ant is built for architects and interior designers doing renovation work, and real estate agents needing walkthroughs, panoramic shots and dollhouses. Pricing is project-based so you only pay when you have a job, and the interface is designed around such workflows rather than general 3D capture.
